Yeah, but yours will be made a little better. I've seen some $100 rigs and they look OK, but I sure wouldn't want one.

In my limited experience with gun leather, I have found that you really get what you pay for.  Those rigs on Ebay may look good in pictures,  but it doesnt account for the quality of the leather or the construction which can only be determined by touching and seeing the product in person.   For me,   gun leather is half the goal of looking and feeling good on the range.  Safe shooting.

I agree on the ebay items.   I am currently repairing a bridle for a friend.  She bought it for $9, all black leather and conchos.  Worst buckles I have ever seen and the portion where you connect the bit (not a rider so not sure of terms), is 4 thicknesses of leather and comes to an abrupt point.  She was not putting that anywhere her horses mouth.

I see a lot of rigs that look very similar to this one displayed in huge quantities at area gun shows etc. All made in Mexico and of generally poor quality. If this is of the same origin as the ones I've seen around here, they're substantially overpriced at $129, IMHO.

I had some Harachi sandals that were made in Mexico from Mexican leather. Boy did they smell bad. Of course, maybe it wasn't the leather that smelled...

Hey Will, don't beat yourself up, it was the sandals.  Mexican leather is urin tand.  It holds up OK, but the least bit of moisture and it smells like bull piss, which of course it is.  Mexican sandals will make your feet smell bad, not the other way around.

I have one of these rigs! They are incredibly strong. Steel lined and everything. I use  it at shoots out here with the CAS world champs and everybody thinks it is top notch. I formed it to my guns and the thing is a champ!! I have several of them in different finishes.

I hope this doesn't stir up a cow chip storm, but I thought I'd look and see.

They are Mexican, but my experience with Mexican leather makers has been positive. My Daddy used to rave about the work of our Hispanic friends. They painted our hot rods in Texas. So Viva Mexico!

American steel ?....hhmmm.......I seen a report last week, on how a "Levi" plant in Mecksico dumps blue stuff in a river all day from the plant, the local farmers said at nite is when they let the toxic stuff go...they were told by the mecksican guberment not to plant any thing with a root system except corn, the farmers dirt in the fields were blue, who knows what Levi is dumping, and who knows where the liquid from those tanning plants are going.....I been tryin hard to buy only USA made stuff..Levi didnt break any laws and were not fined, its bussiness as usual for them.

Goatskin STINKS when you get it warm and sweaty. I had a pair of goatskin gloves that felt great, but they smelled nasty!
