They don't tell you in the mainstream, but it is know among those who study the prairie that 1 acre of properly maintained Tall Grass Prairie produces more O2 Than any regular or rain forest per acre.  The reason it doen't have the rotting under growth to suck up the O2.  Many rain forests use up more than they produce.

Howdy, pards. Been a beautiful day here. Maybe 70+ and sunny. Looks to be nice through the weekend. I guess I'd better plan a motorcycle ride and some shooting (not both together, though).

Thanks LR.

Make sure they give you the right horses today.  Are you a "roll with the punches" kinda guy or did you get mad...like I woulda been, when you found out they gave you the wrong cargo?

Stoney, I'd say that litl rooster is the "roll with the punches" type.   ...HOWEVER... Since this is affecting his shooting this weekend, I'm not too sure he's a happy camper.  I'll bet we'll be hearing a hearty "I GOTTA SHOOT SOMETHING" upon his return. ;D

Sorry LR!!!

Coffee is on here, there are a few sinner-mon rolls left, give em  a spin in the nuke machine.

Rita don't have to go to work today cause this is "Destroy the Prairie Day" in Newbrassky. ::)  Yep once again we celebrate the day when some dummy from back east decided with should replace the native flora with non-native, where was the damned EPA when we needed them. ::)  (BTW Tall Grass Prairie like we have/had in the eastern part of the state,  is one of the most endangered enviroments in the US)

Anyway since Arbor Day is a homegrown holiday we celebrate it despite the fact it has out lived it's usefulness.

(This message has been brought to you by the Anti_Arbor Day Group, a small be growing bunch of folks in Newbrassky) ;)

Remember, Only You Can Prevent a Forest. ;D

Del... something tells me that you celebrate "Destroy the Prairie Day" more than once a year.

That is creepage from the canyons along the North Loup River, the whole area needs some good hot controled fires, fire will cleanse the prairie. ;D

I can often see the smoke from their controled burns in the early spring.

a good burn doesn't hurt anything,  even over here where's  there is nothing but forrest, a good burn cleans out from under the trees and keeps it from being so over grown you can't get into it.

The 1988 fire in Yellowstone was the best thing that happened up there in years.  The only problem with fires like that is when we are in the way of them.  Big fires are a part of nature.

yep, people build up enough of a spot and ya can't start a fire without destroying somebodys house,  really puts a crimp on cleaning things up.  but people like to live out in the woods.

speaking of the woods, it was a nice day out here today, got up to about 70 with a light south wind,
made it real nice riding back and forth checking on the birds, got warm enough to lower the curtains a little on the baby birds today. get a lot of sun and up around 70 you'll get over a hundred in the houses pretty quick if you don't get the curtains down.

One of the firing pins were piercing the primers. So I took the firing pin out to see what was causing it and found that the firing pin was bent. :(
