sorry to hear about your GM.

I landed about 4:30, got the DU's cleaned up, perishables put away, bedding unloaded and stuff that NEEDED to be.   Even got a shower. ;D

Got to Ft. Harstuff about 3  on Friday, made me supper, the boss showed me where stuff like wood was and where to set up.  Set up took over a bunk in the barracks and toured the fort a bit. made supper, bugged Slim, got rained on a bit and then bugged Marhsal Will. Clear in the morning and grear outside had ice on it. Ice melted quick and got stuff going and had an easy day of it.  Gaf folks showed up, we ate in the mess hall, loaded the pick-up and went to the range to feed them there today.  Bunked in with River City John, was 20 this mornin' got stuff packed and left about 1, took a short side trip and got a minor "Sandhills" fix and came home.  Have 183 pictures down-loaded and have bee sortin'a few.

The Barracks I slept in.

Close up of the poured concrete construction done originally in 1874, the off color stuff up high is from the restoration.

Cosie set up round the corner by the kitchen a barber shop.  If it had been tourist season I would have not left the pickup and lemon aid jug in plain view. ;)  1 set of tourists all day yesterday.

The bunk I took over.

Lookin' down the row of bunks, you can see my hat on the one next to my bunk.

And the stove I was tellin' Slim about, there are problems with it so I can't use it.

Del, looks like they have a real nice place there, and with your quilts, you probably stayed nice and toasty.

Wow, great pics, Del. I love that stove with the US on the front. Too bad it isn't operational. At least it still is there. It was nice talking to you. Welcome home.

I had to take a couple off, that building retains the heat well.  With out even building a fire in the heatin' stoves it was a lot warmer than the outside, a lot warmer than River City John's tent last night, I used all of them, was warm enough, but barely, the other guys were not quite as lucky. ::)
