It's a Colt, converted to .38 rimfire. The S/N is 208972, which is ca. 1869. All numbers match, including grips,so it's been together for a long time. I believe it's a gunsmith conversion.
I tried shooting it using the machined rimfire brass that Dixie Gunworks sells, but the recoil of two rounds loosened up the bullets in the remaining cylinders.  :-(
But, it's still an interesting piece.
