Howdy to the campfire: Had above discussion last night with the boys regarding above, which led nowhere. This question might have been posted before and when I missed it I am sorry. But...
Is there some solid comparative data out there comparing inherent accuracy of .38/.357 vs .44 vs. 45 caliber in SA pistols (at 25 yards/meters) and LA rifles (at 50 yards/meters)?
It is calibers only, not different types of cartridges or nitro vs BP.
Thanks for your help.

After further discussion with my reloading buddies I feel it is appropriate to rephrase the questions: is there a "best accuracy" bullet shape/weight and possibly hardness combination in the 3 caliber classes .38/.357, .44 and .45, at regular CAS velocities?
Thank you.

Yep, it's the one each idividual gun likes.  This is true with CAS guns, varmint rifles, hunting rifles and any other firearm that is accurate enough to test it.

I tend to agree with Del. each gun reguardless of caliber is an entity unto itself. What works for one gun of a specific caliber won't necessarily work in another of the same caliber. might have to tinker with the charge weight by a tenth to as much as a grain to find just the right one...............Buck 8) ;)
I might be slow, but I'm mostly accurate.....
