and there is a Marine officer pictured in it several times that looks somehwhat familiar.

Looks like there were loads of military types at the convention.  General did you get a chance to do any recruiting?

However, since the US Post Master General has yet to see fit to deliver my copy of the Chronicle, I have no idea what I'm talking about! 

I spent the majority of the Convention in uniform, which facilitated the engagement of various discussions about the frontier military.  I didn't exactly keep count, but I believe we had several recruits as a result.  Even chatted up Phil Spangenburger but I haven't seen his enlistment papers come through yet.
