Anybody out there have pictures of themselves years back (maybe decades) of when they were bit by the cowboy bug?  Ran across these on a recent trip back to Wisconsin to see my mom.  This is how my Aunt and Cousin used to baby-sit me at the local amusement park where they worked.

I call this my pre-horse pose:
It didn't scan too well.

Where were these pictures taken? Where does your mom live?

These were taken at Horlick's Kiddyland on the Root river in Racine.  It's long gone now.  That's where she still is.  Just had a stroke, so I was back checking up on her.  Doing well.  My brother is in town to keep track of her.

I have never been to Racine, but driven past it on I-94 many a time.

I don't know if there are any pictures of me as a kid in my cowboy hat. That was all my brother and I had of cowboy clothes when we were young.

dang it! Heck of a time for my scanner not to be compatible with the new rig! I've got several of me about your age there, Russ. Maybe a year or two more older. I believe that Howdy Doody has copies of them in his archives if he hasn't deleted them over the years. I'll have to E-Mail him and see if'n he still has them. Got a new unit back this summer and for some reason the scanner software didn't work with the XP. Now I miss that thing! ::) :o........Buck 8) :-\ ;D ;D
I might be slow, but I'm mostly accurate.....

You were really decked out there, Rusty! I shot Howdy an E-Mule and hopefully he'll have them and the time to put them up for me. I sent them to him back then for a bit they used to run on The Wire about recognizing this or that Cowpoke. Figured we might use them sometime. hope he still has them.........Buck 8) ::) :o ;D

I remember that thread.  I think they also ran a couple in the Chronicle.  Couldn't find these then.  However, I've now given myself away in a "Who is this" contest.

Know what you mean, Rusty. They haven't done that for quite awhile, think it has something to do with band width. I may have to look into one of those all in one units and use it as a back up printer.............Buck 8) ::)

pards, you are just going to have to take my word that as a young buckaroo that I was so good lookin' that women would swoon and all the other kids refused to play with me because they felt so inferior, at least thats how Ma used to explain it.

Here's a shot of me a long time ago. Notice the Josh Randall "Wanted: Dead or Alive" rig on my hip!  Wish I still had it.

I know what you mean about wishing.  I had a big ol' Colt 1860 Army cap gun.  Silver, with gold cylinder, Ivory grips, and cartridges with base cases and bullets that came apart so you could put the cap inside.  (I guess it was a Sergio Leone model to have cartridges in an 1860).  I also remember having a Mattel derringer belt buckle cap gun.  Wish I still had those!!!!

Rusty, I had one of those Derringers also. Thwere was one on E-Bay a year or so ago, think they wanted $75 or so for it. Had the Winchester, too. Back when they had the Auction for Big Ed's grandkids, I picked up a Fanner 50 and holster. It's now on my loading room wall, eventually I want to find the rifle and derringer again. Be a lot more expensive than when my parents bought the first ones.........Buck 8) :o ::) ;D

I have a fanner in the rig my Dad had made at the state pen and I also have a Mattel Rolling Block hanging on the wall, wish I had the derringer then my childhood would be complete.
