You need to learn to like all the little everday things like a sip of good whiskey, a soft bed, a glass of buttermilk,  and a feisty old gentleman like myself

Deadeye Don

Just looking at the stills got me excited about this one.  A great shot of a Henry was in one of the pictures.  Is this movie supposed to come out in the theaters or on TV?  When will it be out?   Safe shooting.  Deadeye.

I'm gettin me a big bowl of popcorn and I'll be ready when this one comes out.

My favorite shot in the whole trailer was that feller hightailing it across the prarie blazing away and looking like he was nailed to the backside of that hoss. Now that boy can ride. ::)

I watched the trailer a couple times to see if the Henry's follower moved after he levered it. Yep! Nice touch.  ;D

Were there any Allin conversions (the main rifle used in the battle)?

Henry4440

Didn't see any in the trailer.
Did anyone know when the movie would be released?

I am the Writer and Director of The Hayfield Movie.   We are in the final stages of editing the movie.  Ours is an indie movie.  We are seeking theatrical distribution for the movie and hope to have some good news on that in the very near future.  The current edit of the movie is 2 hours and 6 minutes from the opening shot to the beginning of credits.  We shot the movie in high definition digital video and were on location in six states beginning last June and shooting into early December.

Most of the action sequences in the trailer were shot on a ranch in southeastern Idaho.

We did not use the Allin-modified Springfield rifle in the hayfield corral sequences because the only ones available are rare originals.  The soldiers depicted are using Civil War replica muzzle-loading Springfields.

The Henry we used is a Uberti .44-40 replica.  We loaded it with movie blank cartridges.

If you have questions about the movie, feel free to e-mail me at randy@thehayfieldmovie.com

Thanks for your interest.

Looks pretty good. ;D
Henry, those are what are called 5-in-one blanks. Theyu've been around for a long time, perfected for movie use. Work in .45 Colt and 44-40's mostly, might work in 38-40's too....Buck 8) ;)
I might be slow, but I'm mostly accurate.....

Henry:
The term "5-in-1 blank" means that the blank can be used in 5 different chamberings of firearm:  the .45 Colt, the .44 WCF, the .44 Magnum and .44 Special, and the .38 WCF.  (I suppose you could also say the .44 Russian and the .44 American too, but those would not be commonly encountered in movie prop-guns).  They are typically filled with a flash=powder and are used in movies, plays, and some re-enactments to produce noise and smoke.

Not sure where you could find them in Germany, but you might start with firms which supply blanks to movie and theatrical performers.  One other thought -- Frankonia Jagd might have similar blank cartridges used to train hunting dogs.

Here in the US, they can be found at theatrical supply outlets and some CAS-type stores (River Junction Trade Company comes to mind).

Thanks HB.
The 44-40 for the Henrys and the Winchesters, have they the correct length, that i can load and shoot a full magazine?
;)

Hill Beachy

Henry:  I don't have any in front of me at the moment, but as I recall they are about the right length.  It is one blank that fits all five calibers, there are not separate ones for each.  One size fits all.
