Tuning Question?

I was just wondering, if I lightly stone and wire wheel a sixgun's hand, only for polishing and/or burr removal, does it need to be re-tempered?

Don't use a wire wheel - use Emery Cloth, instead

That and a good stone - carefully used on the high points only - should be enough to smooth the piece.

Follow up with a high-grade lube (I use 'Pro-Gold') and you're set.

No re-hardening is necessary, since you haven't built up enough heat to 'do' anything.
