Stacey Lee,

Nice looking grips.  I like curly maple.  Where'd you get the blanks?

Ransom Gaer,
thanks for the compliment, and I got the blank and all my blanks from a Lumber Yard here in Washington State called Hardell's, that carry in stock no less than 43 different varieties of hardwoods, good prices, reasonably dry too, but I still air dry for weeks prior to shaping.
That peice, less than one aquare foot was only $8.00-ish.
They carry allot of two too three inch thick stuff for rifle-shotgun stocks too, and can get whatever you want, sizes, thickness', etc.

Stacey Lee,

Thanks, I may have to check that out.  I have two of the uberti '58 Remingtons and I have started to think about dressing them up.  And curly maple would certainly be a start.  I also may give Track of the Wolf a call and see if they have some scraps.  They deal in muzzleloading gun parts and may have some scraps that I could get, say when I order the stock and barrel for a Virginia longrifle.  Despite being Yankees they are good folks. ;D

Now thats funny, I don't care who you are !!! ( Larry the cable guy )
Well, unless your Yankee I suppose with no sence of humor.

Hopefully Track of the Wolf can help you out with some Table Scraps . Those pair of 58's sure would look good with matching grips in a holster riggin made for two guns !!
Seein how you will have leverage ordering a stock and barrel for your longrifle, you may just throw you that extra scrap wood bone !!!
Good luck, and if you do make some , post some pics !!!

Stacey Lee,

I was actually born and raised in Minnesota, but most of my family who fought in the war were Southern.  My alias is a cousin of my mine who actually served in the 34th Virginia Infantry, Army of Northern Virginia.  I have always identified with them more than with my northern roots.  I dress for matches as either a Missouri Guerilla or as a Confederate artilleryman.  The 34th Virginia started out the war as the 4th Virginia Heavy Artillery Regiment.

Hopefully I can get some scraps.  I have done business with Track off and on for years.  They are good people to deal with.
