Does anyone know who makes a good cylinder pouch for my Kirst Cylinders ?

Steel Horse Bailey

Howdy!

Fall Creek Suttlery  http://www.fcsutler.com/fcleather.asp  has a 'cartridge box' about half-way down the page.  Nice folks to do business with.  Only black is available I think, but the price is very fair.

Howdy,

Triple K Leather sells a great belt slide pouch which fits TWO C&B spare cylinders perfectly.

It's only $ 21.95 in the Calela's site. It's sold as a twin rotary magazine pouch for .22 auto loader rifle clips.
It oiled brown leather, snap flaps, fits up to a 2 1/4 inch belt and has hols in the bottom of the pouches so you can push the cylinders up and grab 'em real easy ! ;)

Spare Remmie cylinders are a nice snug fit, Colt cylinders are a little loose but still OK.

Cheers,

Slim

I like the double magazine holder you posted the link for, Slim. That is great. Simple and effective. Thanks for the link.

Hi pards, . . . don't mosey over here often Enuf.  Need to start doing so, . . . anyhow, . . thanks Steel Horse for post of the F.C. Sutler site.  They got real NICE stuff.  I bookmarked them in my "leather stuff" catagory.  And Cincinatti Slim, . . . those 3xK  .22 holders look handy, I cud cut the flaps off, but they've still got the damn naps on the front of 'em.  Would work great but I don't want the snaps showing.  Right now I use an old miltary pouch that was for stripper clips ( 2 pouches on it), I cut the flaps off.  Thanks both of ya, . . fur posting, . . and . . . Good shootin', . . . . Remingtons natchurrrraaallly ! . . . .  :)

That's a nice pouch, warbucks. Good price, too. I couldn't make one for that.

Looks great, nice price, . . thinking of ordering a couple of 'em, . . . then I read the reviews, . . . read the most recent one, . . .

Don't put a lot of stock in the reviews. I have been using two of these for over a year with no problems.

Certainly, they are not like  hand made or heavy leather Triple K's,  but they serve the purpose and are inexpensive, especially for a new shooter trying to put a rig together with limited funds.

Warbucks, . . . . I don't doubt that yours are fine, . . the first three reviews say they are great and I beleive them, . . however the last review is quite a bit later and totaly the opposite, . .  is there a new manufacture lot that are different ? or a different supplier ? . . . If I need some other stuff I'll order one and can send it back if'n I don't like it, . . . thanks for your input, they look nice, . . . . good shootin', . . . .  :)

I had one of those pouches from DGW, and while nice quality, there is no way to push a cylinder up out of it, and tolerances were too close to get my stubby fingertips into it enough to get a purchase on the cylinder to lift it out.
Now, it may work better if you wear it upside down and slide the cylinder up into it, so that it is retained by the leather strap over the post, and when changing out you let gravity drop it into your waiting hand after unhooking the strap off the post.

You may have a good idea, there. I'll have to think about that.

Could be that the guy is stuffin a WALKER cylinder in there. They are huge compared to Remmys and "little" Colts. If he got it to fit, and tried to stretch the top enough to button it, I could see it stress enough to pop loose. Not saying its built well or anything. DM

This thread got me considering my two pocket cylinder pouch that is/was an old military surplus leather clip holder that I'd cut the flaps off of.  It hold cylinders nice with enough space to get my fingers in to extract them.  But there was too much extra leather above the pockets and the belt loops were way to big and made it sloppy on my belt.  Hadn't used it in two year as a result.  So I got it out again, cut down the top and the belt loops on the back and as soon as Dixie gun works gets some rivets to me ( on the road with UPS right now) I'll rivet the belt loops to be a snug fit on the belts I wear.  I'll get a picture up on my web site when I'm done with it and post a link.  Lots of real workable ways to do stuff practical and "on the cheap" with a little ingenuity.  Some of my stuff at : DrBurkholter.com/cf9.html

That does look nice.  I can NOT make them for that price!  Probably made in Pakastan, but still nice-looking.

Wolfgang;  What about getting some Chicago' screw type rivets for your belt loops?  Then you could put them on, and off, the belt without removing all the stuff from the belt, and fit them snugly.

Sir Charles, . . . I was actually hunting for a source for the "Chicago Screw type rivets" and happened to find copper rivets at Dixie Gun Works so ordered a batch of them.  Had actually needed some of them a while back and when I couldn't locate any had used leather lacing instead on some leather work I was doing.  Where source for the "Chicago Rivets" ?  . . . I know I noticed some a while back in an online catalog and then couldn't remember where I'd seen 'em.  . . .  :)
