Steel Hoss I have been in Virginia fur 'bout 5 years now (this time around).

I hate ta git back on the topic of this tread, but . . . .

I dun cleaned one of the RVs and I agin spent more time putting it back together than cleanin.  It shor is a shame how much time we darksiders have ta spend on cleaning.

Any one heard when Roundup will be posting apps?

I taken me a Tuperware tub of near the rite size and mixed up  a batch of moosemilk to fill it high enuf to put my RVs rite in it.  Now, I simply take off the grips and dump 'em in the moosemilk spa.  Then when I'm done with my long guns, which ain't a long time, I pull out my RVs, pull a boresnake thru and blow everything out with my lil air compressor.  Sweet, takes almost less time to do than it does for me to type this.  My guns are CLEAN.

Sometine this winter I'm goin' to pull the stock off my 92 and put it in the moosemilk bath.  The barrel's fine, but I'd like to treat the reciever to a nice warm spa bath.  Then, I'll blow it out, put the wood back on and put it back in the rack.  I'm thinkn' there'll be no need to take it any further from together than that and it will be factory clean and well lubericated. . .

Like it was said, probably a "waste of time".  I just like playin' with my guns when I  can't shoot 'em.

Folks must keep better in the cold, Rooster.......

Lemme see if I can get this straight:

Shot the stocked Buntline at Pungo August 5th.  Cylinder dunked in the Ed's Red can that affernoon.  Shot the ole gal August 27th.  Needed room in the ER can so I took the Buntline's out 'n sat it on the bench.

Unavoidable stuff kept me from shootin' 'til December.  First Saturday the ole gal's cylinder come out the ER 'n sat beside the Buntline's.  Shorty 'n Miz Taylor's went in.  They was taken out 'n wiped off/out for a third Saturday shoot 'n dunked back the next day.

Yesserday mornin', had family reasons ta stand out in the drive.  Ta take up time, all four were wiped off/out, bearin' surfaces lubed 'n reinstalled.  They're spotless 'n all done at my leisure.

Well the second RV is now cleaned out.  Hafta say it was fun to play wit the guns when I was not shootin.  Most of what was found was a combination of Balistol and lube.

I will probably not be able to hit the broad side of a barn with clean guns ..... Hey wait a minute!  I am not sure I could hit the broad side of a barn prior to cleaning em.  Oh well no change and I had fun playing with the guns. ;)

Miss Montana shot a hundred rounds of smokeless thru her new Ruger and anutha 25 thru one of mine yesterday.....Took near an hour to clean both of them. Then on top it made a mess of my boresnake so I had to wash it out also.

WW you mean the side of the barn is not a target?

Ho Small Male Chicken,

At least we pards just south of the glacier have Minnesota as a last line of defence against Canada, the source of all winter weather. . ;D ;D

We do thaw out in time for Memorial Day, just enuf to stand and shiver while the parade goes by.  Come Labor Day, we roll up the sidewalk, pull out our Mackinaws and hunker down and load ammo.  Onlyist reason we northerners kin shoot quick is cuz our shootin' season is so short and we got to empty all 'em cases so we kin fill 'em up again over winter.

All that aside, ya ought to come up here in late June and shoot "Hang Um High" with us.  It's a hoot to shoot with lots of bp to boot.
