It just seems like you should have to take the rifle and pistols down and clean them out . . . . at least one a year.  After all we are shootin the holy black and everyone one knows it is a pain in the ars to clean.

Well phoey I say !!!!!!!!! >:( >:( >:(

I just took down my Marlin for its annual cleaning and I an wondering now why I bother.  Normally after a match I will remove the lever, pull the bolt and clean what I can git ta.  I will give it a good squirt of Balistol but it back together and go to my next match.  Then once a year I just figure you should havta take it down and clean it out.  So I just did.

What a waste of time.  About six swabs later I was done.  It took me longer to take it down than it took to clean it.

Ya think we should tell folks BP is not the cleaning problem everyone thinks it is?  Or should we keep it our little secret and let them think we really spend hours cleaning?

I was going to spend tomorrow taking down my RVs but I am starting to wonder if there really is any point.  Ifn it aint broken....

For Pete's sake, keep it down, will ya? The smokeless shooters think we're a bunch of really dedicated hardcore living historian demigods who sacrifice ourselves for hysterical historical accuracy. We gotta keep that aura going!  :-X

We are them Demi Gods, er, whutever.  We do spend more hours cleanin' than shootn'.  It's the truth, all of it.         NOT!

But never let 'em know or they'll start hangin' around askin' all kinds of foolish kid questions and we'll have to spend all our palaver time teachin' the dark arts to a bunch of the heathen. . . . :-X ;)

Yanno, fellas, could say sumthin' real sarcastic 'bout the Myth Sayers whut shoot the Holy Powder but I won't.  It's taken two years of walkin' the Darkside to unnerstan their ways but I think I've figgered it out – helps keep the good stuff to themselves.

Ain't werried 'bout the werd gettin' out from here. Those who shoot the heathen powder are afraid to open this forum.  They think they'd have ta wash their 'puters out with soap 'n hot water then stick it in an oven fer an hour ta dry it out.......

Will, if yers didn't fill yer wreckeration time ya kin take mine home with ya next week.  Ya already know the Marlin werkin's 'n that'd give ya a chance to learn the ways of the Uberti.  'Course they ain't dirty either but whut the heck...................

Heck, Will.  Figgerin' on shootin' the Buntlines since ole Ned is scribbled in the stages.  Just take the stock off'n the other one 'n shoot 'Modern' with them clickity-click sights on it.  Give ya an edgykation wit sumthin' ya kin really get yer hands on......

Steel Hoss, mi amigo.  Don't tell nobody.  I put 'em thru an old wringer then iron 'em.  Used ta wring 'em out by hand but that kept changin' the POA/POI.  Prolly why I had that ONE STINKIN' MISS - skooze me - last shoot.......

To bring this back to Topic, mebbe the last staged in SASS should be a timed gun cleaning stage.......

Then of course there should be bonus for large quanities of smoke and for kilin' targets< ones that are not KD's ;D

Killin targets  :)  makin smoke  ::)  and great friends  ;D.  Thats what it is all 'bout.

Arcey I would never intentionally want to be in a posse wit out ya.  We have too much fun.   Turkey feathers, smoke bombs and what ever else ya decide to bring on.

See ya Saturday.
