I'm curious to know if replacing the spring fixes your problem. The Colt cross-pin is less attractive and not authentic, but (I hate to admit it) is probably a better design.

It looks like Rapid Lee is selling his: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=76197499

After having mine "shot out" and waiting for replacement part, I'm not convinced it is a better design.  ;)
Well, are you gonna pull those pistols or whistle Dixie?

Wow, sorry to hear about that.

One thing is for sure: the Remington cylinder pin is more mass then the Colt one. The Colt-type cross pin design is OK for the lighter Colt pin but might just not be strong enough for the Remington mass.
On the other hand the Remington-type release is said to have worked for the oldtimers and their originals, didn't it?
So, where is the difference to the early Uberti ones? I am shooting light 200 gr bullet over a light CAS load, i. e. less kick compared to the full-house BP load of the 19th century. Just the wrong material for the spring used by Uberti in the early 1970s?
