When it is cocked I notice a "dot" on the right side of the hammer. What is it?

Forged frame gated ubertis look like the way to go! Will cylinder fit older uberti? Also, your thoughts on 5 1/2 barrel version, since I think that is an option.

PS, wrong forum,but rifle status?

Howdy,

SPencer boxed with blanks and ready to go.  Just have to weigh it and make a label online.  My interenet was down for the last week at home.

The Uberti R&D cyilnder will fit the earlier non forged frame Uberti 58s also.  I don't know if percussion 58 parts fit the 45 Colt one.

The "dot" on the side of the hammer is the screw for the ersatz "safety" like the open tops have.  Rotated it 45 degrees and a bump sticks out.  Import requirement for safety on cartridge revolvers.

Very nice, TL.

Thanks for posting those pics.

I notice the cylinder notches have a ramp leading into them like the Colts.

Is the recoil sheild held onto the frame with a screw, or is the whole thing able to come out like a "drop in"?

Interesting style of loading gate.

Would be interested in knowing what the chambers measure at muzzle, and what the barrel grooves slug out at,.........whenever ya get a chance,....I know you're havin fun shootin her and showing her off.
Very nice!  ;D
