Po posledních prezidentských primárkách Demokratické strany (3. června 2008) v Jižní Dakotě a Montaně získal Barack Obama definitivně nominaci na prezidentskou kandidaturu (tedy překročil hranici potřebných 2 118 delegátů), která mu bude oficiálně přidělena na srpnovém sjezdu Demokratické strany (25.-28. srpna 2008) v Pepsi Centru v Denveru (Colorado). Stal se tak vůbec prvním oficiálním kandidátem jedné ze dvou největších stran, který nemá bílou barvu pleti. Nyní se očekává volba demokratického kandidáta na post viceprezidenta. Jedním z kandidátů je také Hillary Clinton.Hillary podpořila kandidaturu svého soupeře Obamy na prezidenta a představila ho sponzorum své kampaně.

Del just called and told me that it was Afrikaans.  I was about to guess that, but I thought it would have been too obscure. 

Afrikaans is a recognized, distinct language spoken in South Africa and is a real mixture of Dutch and German with a smattering of different African languages thrown in.  It came out of the Dutch colonization period.  I can make out enough of the words to understand the gist of the article but otherwise, the only connection that I have to the language is that I knew a fellow in Germany who was fluent.  It's really a useless language, but he decided to learn it because it was different than the norm.

Was talkin' to Trinity, got a call for help from downstairs, Rowdy had a parin' knife by the handle and was playin' catch me with Rita.   Went down and tolt him to give it to me, he did.  He likes to torment her sometimes.  Had I not been home an animal cracker would have worked to be safe, not the best dog trainin' method, but safer.

Got a wierd thing with Angel.
     She usualy listens ta Lil's commands, but occasionaly finds somethin so interestin she turns a deaf ear or takes her sweet time gettin from the car ta the house.  If I say two words "to me!" she fergets about anything else but gettin her a$$ over in a hurry.  It's like someone programmed the phrase in her head.  I said it once aways back an it's always worked better than "come" or "no" though she does do perty good with "no".  Also gets the gist of "good dog" an know it means some neck scritchin an a pat on the head.  Dogs er funny.  If Lil catches her in mischief, she'll hide under my side of the bed.  If I do, it's Lil's side.  We're not even in the bedroom at the time.  Like I said, they is funny animals.

LR,  Blue heelers are smart dogs, as well as border collies, it's the herd dog in them.  Labdogs are pretty smart dogs too. Del's dog and the two that I have had are pretty sharp.  One of my wife's friends is an older lady who lives alone. Her grand daughter brought her a puppy. It is blue heeler and Char pei mix.  It's a dark blue dog with black spots that has a Char pei head.

Had the wife convinced I'd kill the friggin' beagle. Most of the time when she'd see I was gettin' aggravated she'd put her outside. She had a fit when she saw me usin' the dog for a dry fire target. Tolt her she was nuts if she thought I was gonna shoot the dog in the den. All the blood 'n hair 'n such on the walls 'n furniture. I had 'nuff ta do without havin' ta clean a mess like that up.

Yep, Arcey  It seems that wives in general take a dim view of playin' with guns in the house. My wife always jumps when the slide closes on my 1911 or my Glocks. She has no sense of humor.
