Obama probably thinks politicians like Henry Hopkins (remember him?) are role models.  Henry Hopkins coined the phase  "Tax and tax, spend and spend, elect and elect!" Read below:

That TAX TAX and SPEND SPEND business is going to effect me more in a year or so I will be eligible for Social Security. I am planning on retirement then. Less income and more taxes don't sound good.
