Yep, was being groomed for the jobs John got. they had some sort of a drone radio controlled B-24 that was to crash inta a place where there was some secret wepon, another plane controlled it with a radio after it was in the air.  Joe and the co-piolet were to bail out over the Channel and be picked up.  It blew up on them.

Basically a radio controlled bomb. After the pilot's got it into the air, they were supposed to arm it and bail out. Current thinking is that there was a spark or short when they armed it. Don't think there was enough found to bury, and damn little of the aircraft either, a four engined heavy bomber. Joe jr. was the one being groomed to run for President one day. Blew a big hole in Joe sr.'s plans for awhile(Sorry).................Buck 8) ::) :o
