Gots a degree in Auto Body Tech, all obsolete with the new stuff, but I could still change a fender on yer 77 Buick. ;D

Got a lot of other misc here and there, some paid for by me, a lot paid by Voc Joke Rehab before they decided I was damaged merchandise and told me no one would ever hire me cause I was to bad crippled up. Yep, that's the words the lady used, "damaged merchandise."  Oh well went though 6 counslers in 4 years cause they kept quittin' or gettin' fired, never figgered out which one.   The first one of the dumb arsed ones had me spend 2 days doing tests to see what I was capable of then was upset when he got the results, said I could do anything as far as blue collar work and I was too damaged for them to train me.  Well dah, DA, I knew that, I did fine afore I got hurt.

Heck I showed them, found a job I can do and got of disability.  Had some sick-cooy-gee clases and enough chemistry and physics to really uderstand these guns and how they work, paid real close attention to that stuff cause it related to guns a lot. ;D

Paid real close attention to the sick-colly-gee classes cause it helps ya learn to mess with folks minds. ;D

We had a pile of psyche in the Corrections classes... Didn't care for it.  Of course I didn't care for Corrections either.  Juvenile Corrections was worse.  I wasn't going to be involved in that.  My job ended when the judge said guilty.

The psychology is what kept me out of polygraph school.  I didn't wanna mess with it.  In hindsight it was a bad decision but what's done is done.  I guess I could go now 'n pay my own way.  Ain't like I've forgotten how to interview.

Had Business Law in high school as an elective.  Agree with the Trin-Man, it was interestin'. Way more applicable to what one does day to day than criminal stuff.  For most of us anyways.

Years later what I remembered of it helped me in Real Estate school.

How much is a cabinette position gonna pay, Rooster?

Steal was a slip of the tonque, My cabinette won't work like former parties.  More like the private sector.   Generate the revenues and get a slice of the pie.   No new taxes................has that line been used yet?

Funny thing is when I was in HS 10th grade Eglish was madatory, all other to get hours was elective, could use drama class for it, much more fun than a lot of the other stuff, filled out my hours that way.  Mr. Putman was a gem of a teacher.  I think on a day to day basis I use what I learnt' in drama class more than anything else I use. ;D

I guess the class that did me the most good was typing, I couldn't get in drivers training so they put me in typing class in 10th grade, well a few years later in the Army, the question came up one day could anybody type, so I taised ma hand, I became the company clerk, never pulled a detail after that, the first Sargent told me when I came to my name on a detail list, leave it off, he'd say ya can't type for me if your over doing KP.

sure made things easy.

Had ta have English 'n a Math.

Senior year I wanted two classes then I wanted to leave after second bell.  Wouldn't let me.  Got pissed 'n took Auto Shop 'n Print Shop.  They got pissed 'n they scheduled me for a study hall period.  The football coach snatched me out of study hall and put me instructin' Driver's Ed.  That came with a price.  He'd talk my Auto Shop teacher inta borrowin' me when he was short an instructor that period.  Wound up workin' two evenin's a week for him at school workin' with adults 'n Saturday mornin's with folks my age.

I was pards with the teacher's pet in Print Shop.  Got me another part time gig. Worked in there after hours doin' 'Special Projects' for the teacher.  Paid ya outtah his pocket it the end of the evenin'.  School rules didn't apply.  Walk to the bathroom from the shop smokin'.  Soft drinks from the teachers' lounge vendin' machine in the shop. Teach was way overweight.  We called 'im Arnold fer Arnold Ziffle.

Last semester of my Sr. year I had a mathe class 5th period and a 2 hour welding class 6th and 7th, got off school at 3:05, went home, grabbed a luch and was at Hy-Gain at 4 for a shift that lasted till 12;30.  Had a 1st, 2nd and 3rd period release and a 4th period study hall, but had no homework, so I never went.  About a month before Grad, Mom got a letter in the mail, said I was being expelled for not going to study hall.  Mom can get real mean if she needs to anc called and talked to the princepal, was not real nice to him, when she got done he agreed it was stupid to expect me to come to school and hour early and do nothin'. ::)

I've always thought that was funny too.  Especially the chapter on ethics.  It still brings tears to my eyes for laughing so hard. ;D

The institutions try to teach you right, but then you get out there in the real world and realize how easy it is to cut corners and cheat a little.  Just think, only the dumb ones have been caught.  The good ones are still doing it.

Heck, I was tryin' last night to remember stuff that I learned and couldn't.  You're right, though.  It's the kind of knowledge that you don't think about, you just apply it.  It's not gone, I just need to glance over my books to refresh.

When I started high school, there were students driving the buses.  Boy was I ever looking forward to driving a bus.  (I have always enjoyed driving the next different thing).  Sadly they had put a stop to that by the time I got my license. :(

I took typing in 10th grade too.  I hated it, but by the time I was in college, I was a pretty fast typist and a master with the 10-key.  Unfortunately, my right hand doesn't want to cooperate any more, so I am a mediocre typist with lots of backspaces to fix errors.  Thank goodness for the computer!

This place is crawlin' with lawn service folks..............

Sazio, the coach, kept us a couple Saturdays after school ended to help him settle things out before he had to take the cars back to the dealership that donated them. Wound up runnin' errands more'n anythin' else.  Sent me to pick up a prescription for his wife once.  Hell, I done graduated.

One mornin' he told us to wash 'n vacuum the cars, four Plymouth Furies, did it at the auto shop.  He wasn't around to watch so I did my convertible too.

Checked out with the janitor, went home 'n cut grass.  Gottah check from the school board in the mail the next week fer more time'n I spent that mornin'.

We didn't have school busses back in the day.  We'd buy bus tickets 'b ride the city busses.  Green paste board ticket thingys  We'd chew on 'em ta get 'em wet then stick 'em the fare thing on the bus 'n they'd stick up everything.  Used ta really piss of the bus drivers.
