Back in the 70's a friend and I had a big garden at his place south of Lincoln, when the sweet corn got close to ready I bought a 6 volt fencer, some wire and a battery, got some extra posts and insulators from Grandpa.  Built me a coon fence, Bob being a pure city kid had never seen such a device.  Well he got into one wet dewy morning and got zapped a bit, course he whined about it something  fierce.   Well he was whining about it one hot dry Sunday afternoon when we were down there workin'.  When he wasn't around I tested the fence with a "brome grass reo-stat" as Grandpa had taught me.   Heck it wasn't that bad to grab it direct. 

Was sittin' in the shade drinkin' beer and I had set the cooler real close to the fence.  He looked at that fence and whined again, I grabbed the fence with my left hand and drank my beer with my right and tolt him what a wimp he was.   Didn't fool him, my legs twitched every time the fence kicked in.

Never peed on one, way to smart for that, have gotten others to pee on one.

them electric fences will sure wake u up when yer not ready for em,  we got shocker lines that run on top of our feed lines and on top of the water lines in the baby bird houses,  when we are hand feeding the birds, my wife usually wears her flip flops,  and doesn't quite pick her feet up as high as needed, at least she used to not.  got the wire caught between her foot and the flip flop right under her toes,  never seen anybody wake up so fast

now we keep them unpluged until after we get done hand feeding them,  course I had my share of leg shocks off em,
