I just received the new book by Charles W. Pate "Smith & Wesson American Model" and I will say that if you can only buy one Old West gun book this year this is the one! WOW! Incredible Old West photos, government documents, letters, etc. Simply stunning in its breadth of research. Beg, borrow or steal the $65.00 asking price. No, I don't work for the author nor the publisher.

"Crafty or clever ass" The French wouldn't understand calling someone a smart ass, just an ass. There really isn't a word or phrase for it as most of them expect each other to be smartasses.
