I know, I sell "We Don't Rent Pigs" signs at work, ya know how many times I have to explain it to someone who just wanders in to my dept.  Folks like that ya just wish would stay down in the other depts. ;)  Ya just don't want folks like that wanderin' around, might even be the type that would want to rent a pig.  Nope just better off with out them.  Might have to make a sign that says if I gots to 'splain the "We Don't Rent Pigs" sign we don't be wantin' ya up here. ;D

Gus who?

Captain Augustus McCrae - Co-owner of the Hat Creek Cattle Company, McCrae considers himself the brains of the outfit. Generous, humorous, and lazy to the point of eccentricity, he serves as a foil to the more serious, practical Call. When not working (which he does as little as possible), Gus pursues his three chief interests in life: women, alcohol and cards. He is well-known in the territory for his loud voice, superior eyesight and accuracy with a revolver.

Pea Eye Parker - The wrangler and blacksmith of the Hat Creek Cattle Company, Pea Eye served as a corporal in the Rangers under Gus and Call. Pea Eye (his real name long forgotten) is not especially bright, but he is reliable, brave, and kind. He follows Call's lead without question.

and he don't care about chasing Buffalo

That's why I call my hoss Pea Eye

Ozark goes down to the library and looks up Gus Hat

GUS HAT / refers to a specific style cowboy hat with a trail worn look, sloped crown and mellow rolled brim / Robert Duvall popularized the look when he wore one in "Lonesome Dove" / this look has been a favorite among cowboys and wannabe cowboys for over a decade

now he knows and has a good excuse fer not knowing,  he's been out here on the turkey farm for almost 10 years and he didn't see no TV fer quite a while when he got here.

now he know some of the important stuff, he'll haveta keep up

Sloped crease,  that's a little more familiar,  from when I went to college over at Oklahoma State University,  every kinda crease you'd ever want to see there.

Never rode bulls,

used ta be alittle place called Ripley, just south of Stillwater, you could come down there on Thursday night and fer $2.00  you could put yerself in the drivers seat.  just had to bring yer own bull rope.  after about 2 jumps the bull went on, I stayed right there on the ground.  found out right then I wasn't built for bull riding. ;D

I didn't get nothing messed up just sore for a few days, but that was back in late 69 so my bones wasn't brittle back then.   I'd hate ta have to take a ride today,

and I think ole Freckles Brown rode them bulls way up in his 50's, I guess he'd got used to it through the years. ;D
