Dr. Bob

Howdy Pards & Pardettes,

I have thrown my hat into the ring for the NCOWS Senate.  I am now asking for your vote!  You will be receiving your ballot soon and I hope that I will be one of the candidates that you select.

I believe that NCOWS is big enough to provide members with what they are seeking.

I want all members who want lots of shooting to get it.  If you want to shoot and are willing to use approved equipment and meet the minimum clothing standards, I want you as a NCOWS member!

If you want to re-enact the Old West in a safe and historical way, I want you to feel right at home in NCOWS.

If you want to study the history of the Old West and share your research or find something that you need to know I want you to be a member of NCOWS because most here are willing to share their knowledge!

I shoot in the Originals class and enjoy the process of documenting the equipment and writing my persona.  I do not think that it should be a requirement for all members.  [see above]  It is really fun for me and I will help anyone who wants to try it!

I support the path that the Congress has chosen over the past couple of years.  I want to contiue to uphold the vision of the NCOWS founder to provide W/CAS shoots and activities using the firearms, equipment, and clothing appropriate to the NCOWS period of 1865 to 1899.  I support ALL the items now on the approved list and do NOT want to remove any!  I support the unapproved list as well.  If it didn't exist in the years 1865 - 1899 it has no place under our bylaws.

I have attended the last two National Shoots and the Congress meetings in Kansas City in 2005 and McGregor in 2006.  Missed the 2006 Convention with the stomach flu. >:(  I am active with my posse, the KVC here in the KC area.

I want to help NCOWS improve and grow in the comming years.  I want to continue on the path that the Congress has chosen over the past several years.

I will be happy to answer any questions that you may have.

Regards,

Got my ballot today, read it immediately. All y'all make good cases for yourselves. There's six candy-dates and five positions... hmmm... I believe in not voting for incumbents when there's a new guy who I think would do okay, so now I gotta pick a sitting Senator to vote out the door... well... one possible criteria for that is the incumbent I find to be the most annoying...  :D
Yours, &c.,

Just a reminder that you ballot needs to be postmarked by Dec. 1 to be counted!  I would really appreciate you vote.

Good luck Dr Bob!  I can't think of anyone who would be better in the position.

Camille,

Why, THANK YOU MAM!!  I will do my very best! :)  I want to make NOCWS a place where anyone who wants to participate in CAS, reenactments, historical research & socializing can fit in and feel welcome.  The only requirements that I feel we need is to be safe and play by the rules.

Remember, Friday is the last day to mail you ballot!!
