SIR WILLIAM

IF SASS changes the KD rules for 90 gr 32 H&R Magnum Rugers,  would anybody shoot BP 31 calibers?  I think the possibility is there.  The precedent is there in smaller framed revolvers being used for legal match revolvers.

If I don't knock down non-knockdown targets during a match I feel like I didn't do my part.  ;D

Sorry pards, SASS restricts calibers to no smaller than .36 fer frontiersman and .32 fer frontier cartridge. :(

It was an "interesting thought" though. ;)

SIR WILLIAM

It was a "spirit" question.  Cuts, I am still floored that the TGs are considering modification of the KD rule to allow Ruger 32s to be competitive.  The other side is that with a 32 S&W cartridge conversion,  you are in the game with a BP 31 caliber revolver.  I just hope the TGs are aware.

Here's a bit of a different way to look at this:  Just think of al the fun it will be to send them little bitty lightweight things a' flippin' and a floppin' when ya' nails one with a real warthog.  Sounds like the best sort of fun to me.  ;)

I picture a breezy day when the targets falling aren't from bullets. I've seen it happen at IDPA matches when targets are set for light loads.

SIR WILLIAM

T.J., YOU just read my mind!  When or where will "accomodations" end?  I think 32-20 rounds would do most of what a 38 Special is capable of.  If a period 32-20 BP round was the standard? No problem.  A non-period 32 H&R Magnum makes little sense.  I think 32 S&W BP rounds used in 31 caliber BP cartridge conversions could be could be the next step.  How low do we go?

Here in Nevada Territory if you don't nail the targets down, they may end up two counties to the East.  Light loads don't make it too well here.  Nor do light targets!
