A friend (non-computer guy) is wantin' to get one for SASS.
I know they are $$expensive$$.
And are they staying tight with lots of CAS use?

Thanks,
Mustang

Mustang,
They are pretty pricey when you consider an EMF '92 (non take down) runs about half of the price. My experiance with the EMF '92 has been totally positive. Sights are more authentic, real nice grained stocks even though they are not walnut, screw holes are not dished out. IMHO, more bang for the buck.

Mustang,

I got one and see no difference between it and the regular rifle.  I did have problems as it was barreled for 44 mag and marked 44-40, some trouble loading and ejecting.  They are putting a new barrel on it at the minute.  The sights are usless I replaced them before ever shooting the rifle.  Mine looked like and orignal take down and I had several people comment on how nice an orignal it was.  Shot good I hit the targets with it. Just needs to be in the right caliber.

Didja buy it new?   Marked in the wrong caliber?  Poor sights?
I'll let the new guy know.  He mainly wants one 'cause of the novelty of puttin' it together at a match outta a carpet bag (my guess).

Actually I have run across a gunsmith Pard in Fremont. NE who actually mods leverguns into takedowns that work very well.  We might go back & check those out.  They cost a coupla hundred+ less than a factory job & the work is beautiful, from what I have laid eyes on.

Mustang,

Yes bought it new, and yes it was stamped incorrectly.  They are replaceing the barrel at the minute and hope to have it back this month.  Rifle functioned fine just would not eject quite right (duh).  I like taking it down for transporting it.

Curley here,

Old Top didn't tell you that he got quite a remarkable deal on this gun. And if you saw it you would want to have it at any cost. That is why Top is waiting so patiently and letting them change out the barrel. He wants to keep that wood, and I don't blame him. It is sweet.
