Thought this would be a good topic for those days when you shoot really good or really bad.  Well guess what kind of day I had?  and it wasn't good.

Started out o.k. nice weather, all our pards were there and even Trinity was there, was great to see him.

So I decided to try out one of our posse members rifles, great action job was all excited.  Got up to shoot the first stage, shot the pistols just fine, then came the rifle, went to jack a shell in the chamber and it wouldn't budge, tried to get it to go in, so not only did I miss three with the pistols, but because the rifle wouldn't shoot, I took 8 misses there, that's 11 folks, and this is the first stage.

So this same posse member hands me another one of his rifles, I get up there, jack the shell into the chamber and guess what, it won't go in either, but at least I got one shot off, so I go to the pistols, get two shots off and on the third, nothing, someone hollers SQUIB so I pass it off, now this is the second stage and I missed 12 because of gun malfuntions.

Then litlrooster goes to the truck and doesn't even tell me and brings out my trusty Marlin 38, on the third stage I get up and shoot the Marlin, no problem, shoot my pistols, no problem, shoot my shot gun, no problem, although I had 1 miss, better then 12  right?  The fourth stage, I shoot it clean, the fifth stage, 2 misses and the 6th stage clean.  So all in all I ended up with 26 misses.

What did I learn today?  Shoot your own long guns, you know how they are going to work.   :-\

litlrooster says life is good, and I say, a bad day of shooting is better then a good day at work.

And how was your day?

I hope you are o.k. and please wear a glove next time.

Stuck my hand in vat of hot oil once, I do believe someone with a higher power was looking out for me that day, because I didn't get a burn.

Just checked the scores from yesterdays shoot, and I was just so sure I had replaced Trinity at the bottom of the list, but he'll be happy to know that he has his place secure for now, although, litlrooster won't be to happy, he's one spot above Trinity and two below me.  Sodbuster beat the pants off of all of us though.  Way to go Sodbuster.  ;D

Never stand on a basement, concrete floor with a lead pot full of melt and then dip an irion ladle into it.  (They 'tain't grounded.)  Did you know that even if you can't move it takes 2 hours for a pound of molten lead to thit the floor right between yer feet.    ::) ::)  Did you know if the floor is cold and it is sterio-type with a high meltin' point none will get on yer feets. ;D  All I could think of as it fell was "burn ward here I come."  ;D
