A couple of years back I purchased above preowned pistol. It looked pretty much unused but I forgot it in the drawer. Now, I want to put the piece to proper use. According to the proof marks this Italian pistol was produced 1988. Would any of you cowboys & cowgirls care to share his/her experience regarding the strength and weaknesses, the peculiarities of this particular stainless model from Euroarms?
Any comment and proposal is appreciated.

If she ain't rusty or rough, load 'er up with the appropriate size (ya didn't say) round ball and a good charge of Holy Black and let 'er flicker.  I'm thinkn' ya have a fine repro there and it needs shootn'.

With eny luk ya got the book whut came with yer revolver.  It will suggest some good loads.  Lackin' that, see if the mfgr is available on this here web thing and quiz him aboug the rite loads.

If all else fails, send her my way and I'll charge her up and let her rip.  You may never see yer gun again, but my grin will tell ya if she's ok. . . ;D ;D ;D

I'm thinkin' DD has it right.  Find a round ball that is snug enough to shave a good ring, dump some FFG in er, a ball and some grease, and see what ya got.

Can't be near as scary as test firing the 18880s vintage 12 GA SXS with damascas BBLs and a repaired stock wrist I bought last week.  The first shot out of each tube I had a faint feeling like I might get hurt if she went "blooey", but she's just fine :)

I had to "proof" fire an old pistol once.  Put it between two sandbags and pulled the trigger with a lonng string.  Gun shot fine, but it took me some to get all the sand out of it. . .

Hi Wolf

I say .451 balls with (to start) 15 Grains BP and a dollop of Bore Butter over the balls.

Like Jack said " .... ball that is snug enough to shave a good ring "  that should be .451 .

You may want to work up to 21 Grains , but chances are good it will shoot high.

As I recall,  Euroarms models in the 1860 liked # 11 RWS caps (but the red label, not green longer ones )
If you do like your battle guns and get Ivory's it will be a beauty.... enjoy it   ;)

Ho the fire,

How's the coffee?

Anyway, is that 1860 typicall a .451?  If so, I'm goin' to need a couple of pards to test the new EPP-UG 45 150gr bullet in their open tops.  The bullet, shown below, is made to emulate round ball performance, but have Big Lube™ benefits.  ie. no need to use any other lube under or over the bullet.  The bullets are lube/sized before loading and the huge lube grove seals the chamber and lubes the bore.

Hopefully the photos will show up below.

All of mine are ( they are 2nd. gen Colts ) ... all the Uberti's (doz. or more for films & resale) I acquired were too.
And the one or two Armi San Marco's also...
I have a friend with a pair Euroarms  and he uses 451 Dia. as well.

I can't say for Pietta but I pretty sure....

I'd try them for ya..... ;)

Great Major,

Fire off yer snail mail address to my home email address and I'll ship you some soon as I kin get my hands on a mold to make 'em with.  All I have now are a couple of prototypes and the revised molds are on order.
