Hey, I'm looking to get a Push Dagger...examples can be found in 'The Peacemaker's', by R.L. Wilson, on pages 166 and 168.  I'm not looking or anything expensive or collectible, I just want something that has the right handle material and basic construction.

These can be easily found, and are inexpensive, but when you find them, often times they have the wrong handles (usually some ultra modern stuff).

So, I'm looking for something inexpensive, but that still reasonably resembles the Old West types...

Any thoughts?

Howdy OT,

Have you tried Atlanta Cutlery.  I haven't seen a catalog for quite a while, but they used to have some 19th Cen. repro knives that looked ok and were quite reasonable.

Atlanta Cutlery has a line of 'historical reproductions' made in India - by Windlass.

I think that they also supply International Military Antiques.

Good Luck,

OT, I had mine made by a local bladesmith. Antler handle, carbon steel blade. $50 inculding the sheath. I'll check for his address, if I can find it I'll post with contact info. He makes a quality product and really cares about customer satisfaction. Any questions PM and I'll try to answer them. Al
