I am making a plea to Banjoman and asking anyone else who will join me in asking USFA to bring back the "US" Eagle Hard Rubber (Plastic) China Camp Grips as an option.  These were nice looking grips and would also head off the temptation to put those blasphemous Colt Eagle Grips on an beautiful USFA gun.

I've been begging for those for over 2 years! I would buy a 2 pair of those in a New York second! A fine weapon like a USFA deserves more than a plain grip! Colt does not have a patent on the American eagle and US shield, At least a variation like this:

If they go back to the eagle grips I think they should go with something like Rawhide has designed, something that would be unique to USFA, and not copy the Colt grips.  If I want people to think I am carrying a Colt, I will buy a Colt.

Those grips would grace my USFA if they were offered  ;D

It would have saved me from replacing the Rodeo Grips with an after market grips. ivory look-a-like, with an eagle

Virginia Gentleman

That  is almost exactly what the China Camp Black Rubber grips look like except the "US" Avitar is angled a bit.  I really like the drawing and I hope USFA offers them as an option.

Those are a nice looking set of grips Rawhide. They would look great on my SAA's.

Thanks all, for the kind words.

This is the design I was gonna use to have my walnut grips laser etched with, however I never got around to sending them off. I felt laser etching would not look authentic.
If USFA was to come out with these, I'd buy two pair for both of my USFAs. I would also probably sell off my remaining Ubertis and buy at least a pair of Rodeos to replace them with.
If my memory serves me right, they dropped the eagle about the time Colt was suing AWA for "dress infringement". That is why I came up with the different eagle. I say again, Colt does not have a patent or copy right on the American Eagle.

I sure hope USFA will consider this thread.

Colt is unbelievable, if they can't win in good honest business, they try to use the threat of a lawsuit to intimidate their competition.  USFA is not in any danger by using a different eagle design with their own avatar...unless they do get sued and a gun hating judge and jury will decide it. :-\

USFA could bring back the Eagle grips but acccording to Doug, the mold would cost between $8,000 -  $10,000.  The eagle grips tended to be on the brittle side and a different  company is molding the grips for us now.   As we have a significant stockpile of the standard hard rubber grips in stock and considering other projects, I don't see the eagle grips in the happening anytime soon.

Well, I'm little disappointed, but thanks for the reply, Banjoman. :) :-\

Why can't they be offered at an additional cost to offset the cost in a new mould?  Why can't the old source be asked to produce them or sell USFA the mould?  WE WOULD PAY EXTRA!!!! Please ask Doug to reconsider...... :'(

Doc Sunrise

Is there any more thought on this as many of us obviously have expressed an interest.  If we can't get USFA apparel at least some really cool grips with USFA logo and the one thing more American than anything else as far as logos go, the Eagle.

Virginia Gentleman

Yeah, I wish they would get the hint and make them an option.
