Attention!!! LIVE Auction..& We need your help!

If I could please have your attention..I need some feedback here from everyone.

Marshal has come up with the idea of having "Live Cowboy Auctions" here in Cas City.
(( Don't get your hopes up like I did ladies. We don't get to bid on the cowboys themselves, dang it.. ))

But what we want to do is to have guns and all kinds of cowboy items to bid on.

Live Auction will be held in a special auction room in our chat section and you will be able to participate in real time. The Auction will be announced through our newsletter service and on our family of web sites, company and services we promote.

Now where we need the feedback from you all is on this part.

Would it be better to have it scheduled once a week.. once every 2 weeks, once a month?.. And would people be able to participate better in the day or in the evening?..and in what time frame...
It seems that traffic is higher on Monday than other days of the week.. so would Monday be a good time to do this, or a day later in the week?

These questions are going to have to be answered and put into effect along with lots of other blueprints if we want to try this.

We think it would be so much fun for you and for us..and it would bring something new and different to Cas City too.

By now, you all know how the Marshal is.. He has to have change and new things brought in to the town of Cas City or he gets restless and a bit crabby to live with, so right now he is running back and forth in the office like a rooster with his tail feathers on fire, throwing out plans and ideas...
( and kind of actually driving me crazy.... So help me out here please.. *smiling*.........)

We haven't worked out all the details and security bugs out yet, but thought we would let all of you help in the planning. Any ideas and input will be considered and thought about. If it is necessary later to put up a poll with the feedback we get, we will, but for now I just would like you all to write and give me your 2 cents worth.

I would try it out once a week to see how it goes. Could expand it more depending on how well it works. Once I get my medical bills paid down would love to participate.

Well .. we are just kicking the idea around.. Trying to keep things new and different and not letting the site get stagnet is sometimes a full time job in itself.
Boring and being in ruts scare the pants off me.. and Marshal is worse about it than I am.
But we will see what the feedback is....

We have a lot on our plate right now and this is just an idea ... We have lots of them swirling around.. sometimes having the time to incorporate them is another matter.

Forty... it would be kind of like being at a country auction. The time and date would be set..and the item for sale would be advertised.
if you wanted to be there at that time , you would log in to the chat auction site..(Which we will have)
and the item would be in there and the bidding would start.
Everyone would be able to see each bid and see all that was being posted. There would be ample time between bids for everyone to have the time to think and to get typed in the next bid.
We would start out by offering small items .. to get everyone used to how to use the system.. then later have guns and bigger stuff.
Did that explain it??   I tend to overdo the explaining part and in the end confuse even myself.. LOL

I think it is a great idea.  Take a hint from the spin meisters in DC and know that Tuesday at 9PM eastern time is when ya can probably get the best market penetration (think it's an accident they have the SOTU address then?)

Maybe try it as a "one shot" before committing to a schedule.

I would say once a month.More time to get stuff to sell,prepare for the auction,and thats when i get my sales check from my local antique store booth and i us my profit to buy stuff to put in the booth at the local antique store so i can sell it and then i can by stuff to put in my local antique store so i can sell stuff to put---i know,it's a vicous circle,but it beats walkin up and down the office like a rooster with his tail feathers all ruffled up..

I think an on line auction would be just the thing to spice up the place a bit.  Now don't get me wrong, this is a fine place and I don't get to visit as often as I would like but, I think the idea of an auction is a good move.

I think I would have to agree with the individual who said once a month might be a good idea to get started.  This would give folks plenty of time to locate things to sell, get others prepared to save some coin for the auctions and it would go much easier at first until you get all the bugs worked out.  If Monday's are the most visited day for the site, then I would recommend that day for the auction.

Mind you, it's just my opinion on the subject and it don't mean didley squat if you don't want to use it.  I think you are really onto something here and I would definately give it a shot.
