Howdy Pards! I'm just getting started in CAS. I'm thinking that B Western might be a fun category, but I'm not sure about those required spurs!  ;D

I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who shoots in the B Western class, about spurs or anything else. And speaking of spurs: are they difficult to keep on? To walk wearing? Can you recommend a good supplier?

Thanks, Pards!

I don't shoot B-Western but I did just get a new pair of spurs and I don't have any problems walking in them, running in them or with keeping them on.   ;D

Where'd you get them from, Camille?  ???

Judge, back in my younger days when I had cows and horses, I wore spurs,  they are funny, some  fit good, others not. hard to keep in place. some just naturally stay in place.

I would think if you could travel north a little ways, get into cow country,  you could find a few places with spurs, try some on, and walk around a little in them,  try the big rowels and the small,  some wear like a dream some a nightmare. find what ya need for you. I always preferred the smaller rowles,  stayed in place better,

Now days with just turkeys,  don't need spurs much , for my 4 wheeler;D

Judge, a spur shelf on yer boots helps to keep your spurs where they belong.

I got a couple of pair, jingle bobs and all.  No trouble walking, set them down on "town notch" while at shoots.

Thats just loose enough for the rawls to drag a little on the board walk, if you want them to.

hard to climb down the stairs and be careful stepping off things, like the boardwalk or any plat form, but you will get used to it.

I got mine from state line tack.

Don't know, Ozark: with rising gas prices, you might want to prod that iron horse just a bit harder!  ;D

I was last in San Antonio about five years back; going there next week. Maybe can pick up some boots, spurs!  ;)

Judge,  that will be a good place to look and try on a few pairs to see how you like them,  some of em will wear a little different.

ya may be right about that prodding,  even filling up the 4 wheeler with gas is painful at the price of gas now. :o ;D

Stump is correct...................

From there it's what ever tickles yer fancy...................some spurs are down right pieces of art
