What are you doing this Weekend ?

I'll be cleaning guns, loading and testing ammo. getting the camper ready. charging batteries, servicing the truck, etc, etc etc.

On Monday I will be off to Mudgee to camp (in a cottage in the caravan park) will some old friends and a crowd of their friends that I haven't met yet. We will be there for the week, visiting vineyards, local sights, etc.

Back on Fri, take the much neglected motorcycle for a nice ride to charge the batteries up and have a picnic lunch somewhere. Final prep and hitch the camper up on Saturday, Cowra Cowboys on Sunday, then head west to Broken Hill on the way to Adeliade, arriving on the 10th for Winter Muster shoot, the next week dooling around Robe and Mt Gambier, into Melbourne for the monthly shoot at Little River, a week in Melbourne visiting my sister, then a side by side shotgun shoot with the Vintagers Order of Edwardian Gunners before wending my way up the coast over a few days.

Big trip, about 20-25 scenarios, lotsa ammo, lotsa fun.

Looks like I will have to give the Cowboys at Cowra a miss, just plumb ran out of time. Grease and oil change tomorrow, load up the guns, hook up the camper, last minute check, fridge, beer and food on board and we're off! Probably pull into a motel in West Wyalong Sunday and camp the rest of the time. Now going by Mildura rather than Broken Hill. We will return later in the year and make a good trip out of it.

Didn't end up going to Adelaide. Ran a black powder shoot for beginners today. off to Mudgee next weekend for a bit of Colonial Action (cowboy action on valium). Better than nothing. Gotta get some practice in for the Narrabri. I ain't goona win, but I do't wanna come last!

Off to Ilford to shoot Col;onial Action with the Cudgegong Troopers this weekend. gettign ready now, changing oil in the truck, dusting off the camper trailer. It will be as cold as charity there, so I'll be packing as few extra blankets and some long johns.

Yep, it's a bit picadilliy nowadays, my arthritus started playing up and I strained my bicep or shoulder and I had trouble sholdering the rifle and I was shooting koalas out of the trees with the revolver, so I ended up coming last

Going shopping! Looking for a single shot for the Pat Garrett match. Choice between a new Chippawa Mini Sharps in 38/55 and a 70s vintage H&R Big Horn Comemorative. Maybe I should buy both, my wife could use the Mini Sharps while I use the BPCR for long range shooting. Doctor's appointment and back to Bathurst for the committee meeting on Sunday morning, followed by a shoot. I'll kick back and take a spell Sunday arvo.

Currently watching my Chinese wife eat a brekky you can't jump over! No shooting scheduled, shoulder too sore! Carefully loading up Black Powder 44/40s and 12Ga for the BP match at Kenthurst next weekend.

I almost forgot, I ended up buying the H&R Little Big Horn replica (3x rifles in 45/70, I need to go progressive ).

I am loading blackpowder for Kenthurst too, have some to do for myself and The Major and Paddlewheel, lucky they all are in 44-40 will keep me busy Saturday and Sunday. And I have work to do on a camper that I bought last week.

What sort of camper did you buy?

I have a OzTrail Camper 9 which is a well built road/light duty off road rig. I wanted to build a new trailer so that I could put the motorcycle across the drawbar. I got quoted $8-9000, which would have blown out above that. I found a bare camper trailer last week which is virtually exactly what I wanted, 3 years old for $2200! The previous owned upgraded his trailer to accommodate his kid's gear and transferred his stuff across, which hopefully I will be able to do. Even if I have to buy a new tent thingo, it will work out well.

What made you go to a camper? Caravan too big to tow?

The camper I bought is called a Trek Kudu made in Qld, I bought for just when I go to a shoot be myself. Getting to old to rough it

Looking good! I like their motorcycle trailer (I won't buy one yet though I'll wait till my shoulder gets better.) That should make life easier, Governing this grand state.

No shooting this weekend, off to the Taralga Pub with the BMW (Motorcycle) Touring Club of NSW for the awards night and a celebration of our first wedding anniversary. I hope it warms up some, I was R/O'ing at the range today and shooting some of the BP loads left over from the weekend. I was rugged up heavily, but still froze. I hope it warms up a tad for the weekend. We have some prisoners coming from the gaol (jail) this Sunday to build up the retaining wall, so no shooting. The boys will put on a sausage sizzle to keep them motivated.
