Its Tuesday morning, I'm off work and laid up with aan infected toe  :'( but this weekend, if I'm back on my feet, I am determined to set up my reloading gear again and load up for the new guns. I plan to do a bit of cleaning up after this, then  it is off to dinner with a nice lady that I have met and I will pick her up Sunday and take her to a one day shoot with the Cowra Cowboys. Shes never seen cowboy shooting and is very curious. I'm looking forward to it. I'm especially looking forward to being up and about again. I hope you guys get over the dog's disease as we call colds and flu here. Mick.

I'll have to get into the housework as well Camille. After visiting my new lady friend's house, I realise that 'boy tidy' falls wayyyyyyyyy short of the mark ;D

This weekend I'm heading out to my second match. I'm just going to watch the matches from now on until I get some guns of my own. This time I want to spend a bit more time talking to the pards about their guns, to help me make up my own mind about what I want to get.

Boy the plans for the weekend all went to pot, my Dad has had a nasty fall and badly injured his eye and eye socket and my mate's wife just succumbed to cancer. We'll be burying her on Sat morning and I'll head off to Sydney to see dad. Mum will need a driver as well. That's the beauty of a big family, lots of hands on deck to help out. Mick.

One of my  pards  passed away 2 weeks ago . This Sunday he was hosting a CAS Match , so a bunch of us are going to try and pick up his spot and put on a real good show. I know he is watching from the other side of the river.. :(

Make it a good show, Sunday, Pard. Send up a lot of BP smoke, so your Pard can smell it in the clouds. I wish you and your fellow shooters a good shot.  ;)

Boy, those pepper poppers are noisy! I R/O'd a practice shoot last Sunday, because we have a cop who is in charge of approving ranges in the state and is at worst certifiably mad I think and at best just plain old agenda driven and inconsistent, we must shoot from under steel baffles so we can't sgoot over the berm and he won't allow steel targets, the IPSC shoots are a noisy and tame. I don't mind shooting IPSC occasionally, but don't like the race guns. I shoot a bog standard 1911 Colt mostly and a 92FS Beretta occasionally. These practice shoots would be good practice for my cowboy guns as well I suppose. I am about to convert to classic cowboy and need to practice one handed.

I'll be cleaning out my shed so I can make room for my new gun safe. I also discovered it doesn't have bolt holes in the bottom, so I'll be spending some time drilling some. Hopefully my bits are sharp enough..

I had that problem soe time ago, whacked a dob of weld where I wanted to drill, whacked it off quickly with the welder's hammer and drilled through th softened metal. I have a big gunsafe sitting in the trailer in my front yard. I get a bit of water under the garage door occasionally so I mounted a pair of skids/rails underneath to keep her bottom dry. I suppose some threaded bars and that realllllllllllll fancy glue will be the go. Lining up the holes is going to be a bear. I might have to make up a template with a spare piece of melomine or MDF or craftwood or similar. I think I'll lightly attach the board to the concrete, slide the safe on top, drill throught the holes into the board, remove the safe, drill through the holes in the board to the concrete, remove the board, vacuum, put the glue in the holes, put safe back, drop rods in, let set, come back a day later and put washers and nuts on the threaded bar and torque it down. I will be spraying the skids with glossy paint and using car wax as a release agent, because I think I wil probably be moving once again before too many years.

Who'da thunk a simple sounding job like bolting down a gunsafe would need so much elbow grease?  ;D

Mine has turned into a full empty out of the shed, and complete rearrangement. I decided that while I was at it, I'll need to be making some room for a reloading press and storage for all that paraphenalia.  A pard recommended an old metal filing cabinet as a good place to store that kind of thing.

For me, mounting the safe will be the easy part. Clearing out the stuff and making space on the wall will be a huge job.
