Here's that aluminum carrier some have heard so much about...some are really uspset over it on other boards, but one thing it is, it's LIGHT!  Way less than 1/2 the weight (best guess) than the original brass one....I'll know for sure when I pull mine.

I really don't see anything wrong with it, and if it performs, won't really care if it offends anyone else or not. But then, I'm just ornery that way! :)

Marshal, thanks for a board where a feller can post pictures!

I`m not offended at all!

Less weight will give you more recoil ;D

If I should try to be serious for once, I`m not sure where I stand in that discussion. Somewhere in the middle I think..

Yeah Hext, me an' ol' Rowdy Yates will fix her up for ya.  When I first heard about it, I was a bit turned off....thinkin' of silver aluminmum, whixch would just ruin the look of the gun, but it's anondised(SP?) so when it's in, it looks right.  Most of the big name 'smiths cut the brass one similar to this, and I've seen some that were cut down even more.  Winchester actually use a lightened carrier in the 32WCF 73's, so it's really not a new idea, as far as being lightened, but the aluminum is a new concept.

Doubt it'll make any difference in recoil, but could make the action a bit snappier. We'll see and will report here at CAS City as it's the only place where you can really readily post pictures.:)  (Can ya tell I like this place? ;) )

Klondike

inquiring minds want to know, What was the price tag? Or do I need to email Billy?

Doc Shapiro

Klondike, e-mail Billy.  I think he said $100.  It's not necessarily a drop in part.  Once it's in place, the timing of the gun has to be absolutely perfect.  One of mine needs a little bit of weld and some filing  ::)
