Well While waiting on my new stock, I repaired the old one so I could shoot it. Well I refit the butt plate, the little catch button wasn't fitting to good so I cleaned up the burs and flexed the spring by hand and broke it,  that is 16.00. Well no problem I can still shoot it.. So loaded up 40 rounds, cycled good, so Finally went to the range. Shot 5 no problem, loaded 5 more worked great. Put the rifle down while getting 5 more and I heard a snap, OH OH. Picked it up  looked at stock looked good. Pulled back on hammer, no spring, main spring broke. So back to the shop, took off side plate and the 2 ears are broken.  I love this rifle about 6 inches hi at 50 yards, will get better. It is a well made piece, shoots fine cycles real nice. Just a few problems. Watch out for those guys that have them NIB never fired, it could cost more than the few bucks saved.
Stock 260.00
catch 16.00
Main spring ? and spare?
Frustration???
But great carbine. It will be, then cowboys look out...Loco

Two Flints

Loco,

Hang in there, and all will come together.  They are fun to shoot.  I enjoy my .45 Schofield Spencer.

Well still waiting on my parts.  I remembered I had a main spring for my Taylor 74 and yep they are the same. Well I went to fitting it and lightening it and low and behold One of the ears broke..They are touchy, must have hung it up some how. Almost had it done.. So watch them springs they're tough but they will break..LOCO  :o
