Just got a USFA .45 Colt Lightning Carbine.  Looks and feels wonderful.  The fit & finish is excellent, but one would not expect anything less from USFA.  The deep blue color is very nice and the stock is very well done.  This rifle is very "snappy" and easy to bring up to aim.  It is actually a lot of fun to handle.  I will be shooting it after the holidays and get back with some field notes.

I have a usfa lightning been shootin it and testing it for a while now.
it loads up and gets sticky in the action when you use a load thats to lite when shootin 45 colt straight wall case's
when i use the 250 grn lead bulletts with 6 grains of titegroup powder it works well.. any load lighter than that i get spray back around the action and can feel the blow back in my face. and after 30 rnds the action will get sticky. but the hotter loads dont do that the cases expand enough to seal the chamber it no blow back..........ram
keep yur powder dry.

I am going to try factory loads this weekend and I'll let you know.

It sounds like Cowboy squibs are not a good source of ammo to use in the lightning.  My way of thinking is all the CAS squibs should have to meet a minimum traditional velocity to be authentic, just like IPSC Power Factor.
