Homemade Moose Antler Grips - 1858

I had a set of old moose antlers my father-in-law had "donated" when we moved into our new house.  After staring at them long enough, I decided to try my hand at making a pair of grips for my Pietta 1858 Remmie.  Pictures below.

I sanded them through 400 grit and that's about it for a finish...so far.  They are a little thicker than the wood grips but that seems to help with my fat hands.  I also switched sides with the screw hardware as I wanted the screw head on the right.

Let me know if anyone wants to try their hand and I'll detail the process along with required tools and drill bit sizes.....took about 7 hours total time.

Now those are nice grips ..i`m looking for the right material right but want to try my hands at makin a pair of grips ... only hopeing mine will come out that nice ..
