A pard gave me a box of 10ga ammo.  It's a 25 shell box of Western Super X paper shells with fiber wads, 1-5/8 oz of #4 shot.  The shells are very new looking with a folded Six point pie crimp.  The box is in very good condition.  The shells were packed in this box by the factory.  There is no zip code on the address.

So, should I shoot and enjoy 'em, or should I put them on the shelf cuz they're too valuable to shoot up?  Any idea what they're worth?

I wouldn't shoot them, full boxes are getting quite scarce, I would guess middle 50's to late 60's in age.  Value I would guess wouldn't be much over $10-25 right now, but they will never make any more.  I have 3 full boxes of Remmington 28 gauge of three vintages, roll crimped paper, maybe 1930', Pie Crimp paper, maybe 50's and a box of the new wonderful "All Plastic" from the middle 60's.

(10 and 28 gauge changed later that 12-16-20 did)

I tend to agree with Del, DD. A full box is unusual, and can't do anything but go up in value since there certainly aren't anymore to be had .............Buck 8) ::) ;)

Thanks Pards,

I was more or less leaning in the direction of settin' 'em up on the shelf next the duck decoy and enjoyin' lookin' on 'em.  If I did shoot 'em I'd reload with Holy Black.  Problem is, then they'd get used up and I'd just have another purty empty box.

I tend to agree with 'em too, DD. Besides, you should be using 3.5" shells in that "Mighty Ten" anyway.  ;D
