a hollow base wadcutter bullet mold in 38. Or just a hollow base mold for a 38 cal. I like to mold my own but can't seem to find a mold. Anybody know who makes one or a used one forsale?

Buffalo Arms Co. out in Ponderay Idaho www.buffaloarms.com, sells both a .44 and a .38 hollow base bullet, Rapine makes the molds which they also sell.

At 26.95 per hundred I remember why I want to cast my own!  Looked at the Rpine molds they sell but didn't see a hollow base one at all. Like to have the one that cast there pure lead 150gr rn.

If you look next to the bullet it shows the bullet mould used #358150HB, I believe this is a Rapine mould (you may want to call them, (I'm not sure they have a web site) and it is the .358, 150 grain hollow base bullet.

Didn't I hear that RAPINE was demised?  I looked at my NEI catalogue.  They don't have a HB .358, but there is a useful looking wadcutter, .359-148-DE"  (double-ender) #138.   Now if Nei could be persuaded to fill the void!??  (Or make a void - LOL!)

You're right!! Rapine has stopped their dealership program...., (it seems the boss is getting up in years and he wanted to turn it over to his children, but they wanted no part of it....too bad),  But!, you can still get their moulds made if  you call direct at...215-679-5413...  I talked to them this morning and it took me forever to get someone to talk to. Rapine will make any mould for you they've made in the past as long as you have the # of the mould.

Now for NEI....., NEI will make you a double cavity 358 Hollow Base mould (even though its not listed in their catolog) , for $110.00. plus $8.00 shipping, you can call them direct at 915-772-0259, ask for Joel. Sounds like a bargain to me!!!

When I made my conversions I considered a Rapine mould, lets see $80 = a lot of Hornady HBWC - cost of lead - time.

Got lots of lead and I cast all my own bullets anyway.
