Do They Make Anything That Will Keep Your Gun Rig From Sliding Down.

Yes.

It's called a 'belt' - and Tandy Leather currently has the 'Craftool' Pro Rotary Punch on sale so that you can adjust it to fit...

The cowboy - contrary to popular illustration of the 'John Ford Reference Library' - didn't wear his cartridge belt and holster below his hips - he wore his weapon at the midsection slightly above them for comfort, using them to more or less 'anchor' it in place.

You may need to experiment a bit for snugness - but you'll want that, since it's that snugness that holds everything where you need it to be held - so when you adjust - do so with a loaded cartridge belt and with your weapon in the holster -to allow for maximum 'resistance' from the overall weight.

Good Luck.

I have narrow hips and no appreciable butt to speak of. When I wore my rig, I spent more time hiking it up than anything else. If I took a deep breath, the thing would drop down around my ankles, even if I had it so tight it was hard to breathe. My simple solution was to wear two crossed belts. Each belt will tighten with the weght of the pistol in it. You can get by with narrower belts, too. The only drawback is you may need to have tie-down straps to keep them from riding up when you draw your pistol.

Some folks line the belt with suede...I haven't done it yet but bought some thin (2-3 oz) splits and figure I'll contact cement it to the inside of the belt then saddle stitch around the edge of the whole belt.  I usually do the edge stitch anyway for looks and to help minimize stretch.

People who have the suede lining have told me it keeps the belt anchored pretty solid...

I have also considered sewing the loop on my Slim Jim inside out and lining that as well...my cross-draw tends to move once in a while and this might help...

one word - SUSPENDERS:

here's an original 1870-1880's cartridge belt for large rifle cartridges:

I've made several gun rigs over the years for "snake hipped" gents similar to this and they work great...........I generally add four 1/2" d-rings attached to the belt proper and then use dog chain snaps as shown above to attach the suspenders - if you attach the d-rings with Chicago screws then they are removable, leaving behind only four 3/16" holes.......

While suede does work at first it eventually wears smooth eliminating the "grip"

Another option is a 19th century money style cartridge belt no wider than 3" - even with a smooth side in they holdup better since they mold to ones body better than single thickness belts...........these were THE most popular using belt in the late 1800's due to their comfort...........
