Whats a good company to insure my guns through?  And what kind of insurance should I get?

This is a good question. Probably something we should all think about. My wife has breached this topic many times but I just have not pursued it. I would think the first step would  be contacting whoever insures your home and ask them. Probably pictures, serial numbers and some type of estimate of your firearmes value might be necesseary. Not everyone owns a home but I am sure the same principels apply with renters insurance. I realize I have not answered your question. Your post just reminds me that I need to do the same thing. Any CAS members have experience with this? I hate to ramble but I think B.K. brings up a very important issue.

I insure through Farm Bureau home owners Policy,  they want the make, model, serial # estimated value (your estimate) and any accesories attached. and their value.  I have a few guns that never see the inside of the gun safe, so I make sure they stay updated. they are listed on a rider to the homeowners policy and it's just a few dollars per gun per year, but all the guns you want covered must be listed they don't have a blanket policy to cover everthing unliess it's listed.  I have pictures of all my guns but they don't request any for insurance use.

For anyone who doesn't have one a good gun safe is a good start to insuring you keep you guns. keep the ones not in use in it and " locked."  then start thinking about the insurance on the guns,
