I was just at my local Sportsman's Warehouse looking for a tang sight for my '94.  Did not have one, but had one for a Marlin '95.  Is this going to work for a '94 OR '95?  Whats the difference?  Main question is are the Tangs the same?  Holes line up?  Height of stock the same? ??? ??? ??? ???

Thanks for any help you can send my way! ;D

The '94 & '95 sight and tang are different. I am not sure how much different but enough to make the sight not interchangeable. I also believe that a hole needs to be drilled and tapped for the sight's front mounting hole. The stock screw goes in the rear mounting hole. The sight should come with a longer stock screw. I am remembering this from what my gun dealer told me. He is a Marlin fan.

Thanks Slim, you saved me an expense I don't need.  I'll keep looking for the right one.  Couple other places here in town I can try.

Slim's telling you straight.

The Lyman is also available all over the net.. Brownells, Midway, etc.
Another thought, because you have to tap the tang of your rifle, you might want to contact a gunsmith beforehand.  The Brownell's discount, for example, is good enough that a dealer/smith could sell it to you for the same price as retail and install it for a bit more, might save a bit on the installation charge.

Best of luck.. Adios,

:) Thanks Big Hext!  Haven't seen you post for a while, that new job has got your hours all screwed up. :o

Yep.. time has become a bit more "liquid."  Like right now, I gotta go to bed..
But I'm getting a lot of gun work done during the night.  And soon, I'll get to reloading, good middle of the night work.
