I'm in Boston this week on business and just got back from 791 Tremont Street, aka the Spencer Armory. The Chickering Pianoforte Building is still there. It has a couple placks beside the front door, one of which mentions the Spencer Rifle Co. operation. The place looks just like the engravings from the 1860s, other than the pavement and modern windows. I'll post some pictures when I get home. It was pretty neat walking down the street and through the door the Christopher Spencer must have passed a thousand times.

   Greetings!

That's really neat! Please do post photos. I'm glad you're able to visit such a historical site; reading about it, and looking at photos & engravings is one thing, but it doesn't have that other dimension of "being there"!

                 Be Well!
