Hey, I'm looking at getting the Uberti Millenium revolver ('cuz It's cheap!) and the least expensive gun I've found was on the web site "AJC Sports shop" out of texas. http://www.ajcsportshop.com/index.htm Has anyone gone through them?

I guess to fit in to this hall, has anyone shot the Millenium revolver? I've heard that it's just the same as any other Uberti, just that inexpensive finish. Is that true? Thanks for any info.

I'm not real sure what you are asking.  Are you asking how another brand of Millineum revolver compares to Uberti?  If so what is the brand?  I couldn't find much on the website that you posted the link to.  Sorry.  :(

You've got it basically right. The Millenium is the standard Uberti without a high polish finish. The price listed there is pretty good. I wasn't aware that they were available in .357 as well as .45Colt............Buck 8) ::) ;)
I might be slow, but I'm mostly accurate.....

As the euro spirals up the cost of Uberti's  and others go up , that is a given.
Just a few years ago a Millennium was $195 @ Cabela's on sale, $249. today is a good price.
I see them priced at $349 these days.
Uberti saw the need for an entry priced, no frills version of the over $400 Cattleman revolver.
This is the Millennium, they are stout little guns. I may grab one myself.

I know of two, in 45 LC's used in both Cowboy Mounted and CAS and they have served that Cowboy shooter well for 4 years.

USFA has the Rodeo in matte finish.
Even Colt saw the need to have an entry level revolver the "Colt Cowboy".
But they priced it to high and it had it's problems and is no longer made.

Thanks for the replies. One question still remains in my mind though, should I trust these guys or should I save up a bit longer and maybe buy a used Cimarron/Uberti Model p, I've found new ones for around $382, maybe search the local CAS matches?

Ah!  and there is the rub  :-\

It all bolls down to what pleases you.... Utility @ a lower price or more polish @ 1/2 again the price.

I have seen some photo's of Millennium revolver's on this BB that had added grips , a touch of polish etc. looked mighty nice.
Do a search, for those photo's here.  I think you'll like what you see.

Well, working part time at $8 an our and spending 60% of my net on gas, :'( that milenium is looking pretty good.  I've been talking to a guy who took the matt finish of his millenium with 000 steel wool and a buffer, and it doesn't look bad at all. Here's a picture he sent me...

I don't think that the matt finish looks bad anyway.

Me either ... I like what the fellow did also.... so you don't get case Hard color.

You can get 2 Pistols for the cost of one with high polish and case color....

$249 NIB :) I'd be all over that deal ! PUN warning  ::)  "More bang for you Buck" !

Like I said ,they are stout pistols... My friend has bang and clacked them Mounted shooting they look & function just fine at live CAS shoots to.

I've had the milleniums and they were great pistols.  .45's was my choice and now with the .38/.357's, you'll have some great pistols.

Now I've seen all these topics where everybody argues about what calibre is best; .38/.357 or .45 lc. My dad is a little predjudice about revolvers and he's got this story about one of his cop friends (he was a cop) who shot this guy five times cbm with a .38 revolver and he had to finally stop the guy with his flash light. the guy just kept coming. And there's the .357 he says that itll go through your guy and the five guys behind him. if I ever had to defend myself would the .45 be the best round? (plus the authenticity.) Now, I'm not trying to start an arguement, but what are everybody's oppinions about it?

P.S. I'm planning on reloading my ammo with black powder eventually.

DIfferent guns for different purposes just like screw drivers and wrenches.  Bullet type and bullet placement in a self defense situation are more critical than caliber.

Heck, you can get killed by a .22! Like the lady said Bullit type & placement are more critical than caliber. Except I would place 'placement' ahead of type. A bullet to the brain or heart does not have to fragment to stop an aggressor.

Historic fact the US army use 45 LC issued to Cavalry (mostly)
They found the 38 Colt issued to Troops in The Philippines , during the Moro revolt was inadequate.
They could empty a six shot revolver into a charging Druged up Moro, and he could still hack the trooper to death with his sword.
The 45 knock them off their feet with one hit most anywhere.

If you buying the Millennium for Cowboy action either is fine ( I prefer the 45 LC & Sch. , though I also have a 38 special ).
38 Spc. factory Loads is a little cheaper than 45 LC factory loads.

I think if it was my only Home protection gun , I go the 45LC and if recoil is your concern, You can down load the 45 for your gaming.
Black Hills factory loads is not all that recoil (ish)

yeah ! my first choice would be the 45 LC.

Now if your wanting home protection, I'd use your Cowboy SXS, nothing says SCAT like a 12 Guage ( even better if it's a pump , that rack into battery sound alone will get them moving )

I'm not worried about recoil, i can handle it and welcome it. ;D Thanks for your help guys. Anything else you want to throw in advise wise?

I agree with what was related earlier, and that for SASS use the 38/357 is going to be the more econimical of the two.

Just remember, if you stay with this sport, you will not end up with just the bare minimum of guns. I started out in 2003, and now have two sets of main match pistols as well as 2 main match rifles. I bought the more inexpensive ones first and when I could afford a "better" set, I bought them.

I shoot 44-40 as I like the bigger caliber, and for me, the authentic caliber for our time period is what I wanted.

I also have a USFA rodeo in 45, with 4-3/4" bbl, which is fun to shoot.
