Anybody read the Eagle Series by William W. Johnstone?

I just picked up the first book, Eyes of the Eagles.  It seems like it will be a good saga.  I was just wondering if anyone else has ever read this series and what they thought.  This is the first Johnstone book that I have read.  I usually read Ralph Compton, Lamour or Grey.  So, I just thought I would get some ideas about Johnstone as a writer.
