Wills Point Pete

Ol' Smokin' has me beat. I'm driving out to Arizona and California for six weeks, I'm takin' five hundred rounds of BP .45 Colts for my handguns and rifles and 100 rounds of BP shotshells, plus a pound o' powder and the makings for some more of my brass shotshells.
I doubt that the wind will be right but I can hope that some of my smoke will drift over San Francisco.

I am concerned for ya Willis Point Pete.

Are ya sure that's enuf ammo?  Of course if ya run out in either of those states, I have lots of great aquaintences out there that will be only too happy to loan ya some.

But hey, on the serious side, how much ammo can us Cowboys travel with as we drive around from state to state?  I have a don't say attitude, but what are my rights going to an out of state match?

I remember reading last year a SASS shooter had to make several trips back and forth across the Hover Dam because he was carring too much ammo and powder ..and there was a set amount you could have crossing it .

Howdy River City John,

I'm thinkn' that NCOWS has a number of things right and that they probably have a higher percentage of BP shooters.  My hat's off to 'em cuz they bring a lot of that wisdom back to SASS matches and help dilute the evil influence of the baseball caps and tennis shoes I've seen lately.  Of course, most of that was first time shooters and I don't expect to see it continue.

Shootn' off a beam sounds like a great stage.  I'm wonderin' if it mite be hard to re-set?  Also, what would you think of shootn' off a hangmans rope?  Old west movies seemed to use that trick every now and then.  I'm thinkn' a sandbag hangin' from a noose cud make an interestin' and challengeing target that wouldn't be too hard to replace quick like if some were made up ahead of time. . .

Good shootn'!!

Dick, we have done the "cut the rope" scenario in the past.  Even with .45's and .44's, it can be amazingly difficult to cut a half-inch rope!  (Shotguns do it pretty easily!)

I'm not sure that is true. It really doesn't seem like it at the NCOWS matches I've attended. Admittedly I only shoot with two NCOWS clubs on anything like a regular basis, but it really doesn't seem like Darksiders are any more prevelant than at the SASS matches I attend. In fact at one NCOWS club I've shot with a couple of times, I was the only Darksider there ???

I could be wrong about it, but that's my impression so far.
