From this I'm not real sure.  I don't see why you would want to paint your pistol sights brass though?  There may be a better way to accomplish what you are trying to accomplish.  If you are having trouble picking up the front sight serrating it may help if your guns are nickle or stainless there are other things that you can do that are perfectly legal and will make a big difference.

• Sights must look like sights available during the cowboy era—
bead, blade, simple post or otherwise approved front sights
(such as the XS Cowboy Express) made of materials such as
steel, iron, ivory, faux ivory, brass, gold, pewter, copper or silver
are allowable.
• Rear and front sights may be "blacked." Colors other than
those of the materials referenced above or any "day glow"
materials are not allowed on either front or rear sights.
• All rear sights may have their openings adjusted.
• The front sight may be raised or lowered to bring point-of-aim
and point-of-impact into alignment.
• The back of the front sight may be serrated.

I am trying to see the front sight of an opntop when it pointing at a flat black target in a green forest of trees ,
That is the best way to describe tyhe targets at one of the local clubs. I shoot at another club due to that fact .
Thanks for the reply though Mam.

try serrating the front edge of the front sight...you'll be amazed at how much it pops out against any background

You're most welcome.  I recently changed from blued guns to nickel plated ones and was having problems finding the front site.  I asked about having it serrated.  I was told instead, on the nickel guns, to have the hammer channel bead blasted and dulled out and then to polish the front sight up.  It worked like a charm and my accuracy has gone back to what it was before I got the shiny guns.  :D

Ill be stoping by a gunsmith anyway but thanks for the tip about brownells .
I have also found that klein screwdrivers work pretty well on guns . Lot of soft zinc electrical screws and the small kleins seem to be ground right. And I havent built up a gun only tool kit but its in the works .

And Mam a lady should have shiney guns, Helps give us time to duck before they start spittin.

YAY!  Then Cas City is meeting at least one of it's goals.
