I had the honor this weekend to shoot with North Alabama Regulators.  I must say, like all Cowboy Action Shooting folks, these are first rate pards.  They are good people, friendly, engaging, fun, and lighthearted with a wonderful spirit.  However, let me tell you about Posse #1 that I was assigned.  Posse #1 was an interesting mix of people. There was the 2006 Southeast Mule Camp champion shooting with his father; a partner who gamely shot the match despite the fact he required a walking cane to move from one location to another; a teenage lady shooting with her grandfather and her great-grandfather (the great-grandfather's son was the grandfather).   The great-grandfather had injured his hand, figured a way to shoot with the injured hand, and had his great-granddaughter load his guns for him.  He told me how proud he is of his great-granddaughter.  The club applauded their champion, helped one another, encouraged and cheered each other, ribbed one another, laughed at themselves, took the time to visit with and explain to the spectator what CAS shooting is about, opened their arms to me the new guy and made me feel at home.  I am humbled and honored to have had the opportunity to participate in our sport with such people. Sawyer (the scamp who keeps everybody laughing and had two of his granddaughters there also), thanks for inviting me.  Great stages.  Great match.  Great folks.  I had a great time!
