Dr. J. Deadly

I have not attended this before - what should we bring along to help out with the cookin?  Thanks! ;D

Cal and Lou

It's good to hear that you are coming. You don't have to bring anything to help out with the cooking. There will be a chuck wagon there Friday evening and Saturday. The Roundhouse Band will be there to entertain us Friday and Saturday night. Looking forward to meeting you.

I wanted to do that so bad, I ended up with a bad tooth abcess and have been fighting a severe infection.  I had to come home early Sat. from a Boy Scout encampment I was working with.  I think we have in under control now, had to go to the ER and have it lanced last night.

I will have to have a tooth I broke a short while back either fixed or pulled soon, when the infection is totally gone.  Part of the problem is even though I'm on masive doses of antibiodics, they it is not the best one for the job.  The two top ones for this on the list would kill me as well as the infection.  Monday I was running a fever of 102.5, which is now past.

The the other problem with many antibiotics has also happened as I was afraid of, in the 1/2 hour I was in the sun today I developed a bad rash right through my long sleeved shirt.

Well, I guess I don't get to be 'yer "little mary" :o

RCJ:  Actually I donated the camp chair to NTR to use as a raffle item to help raise more money to put towards the purchase of the range.  The "Grand Prize" of the 1st Annual Old West Encampment Event was the priviledge of being able to shoot in the rain with 27 other dedicated shooting enthusiasts.  I am soaked to the bone and had a great time.  The rain mixed with the residue of my BP loads actually helped to lubricate my gun and keep the buildup washed away.  I got through the match with no malfunctions.  Ron Dahlman was the winner of the Poker shoot and although I wasn't able to stick either of the tomahawks or Norms big 'ol knife, I was able to stick my Green River skinner that I carry in my boot.  I discovered it has amazing aerodynamic abilities! :D

Well Ozana and I made it through the day and were very glad to have come out even that the weather was so dreary, of course it cleared up as soon as the shooting was over for the main match. Too bad that I wasn't able to stay around for the hatchet throwing but from what I hear I have to get a tomahawk and a stump right away and get to hurling.
We both had great fun and are already looking forward to another match.

Also a special thanks to Steve Paulson for the loaners. It made our day much more enjoyable that Ozana was able to shoot your smaller caliber guns.

Dr. J. Deadly

;DFirst off I woud like to thank everyone for all the extra assistance and telling me about my errors in such a positive way- you were very kind to the rookie.  Secondly, all the help with my equipment – including loaning me a revolver with ammo on a stage when a spring broke in my uberti 51.   I had a wonderful time even when I was trying dodge all that smoke  I enjoy creating – must have been the air – I usually don't get that much smoke up in the northland!  I learned a lot – had a great time,  even with the weather – it rained all the way home and is still raining now!  Hope to see everyone again at the convention! ;D

Dr. J. Deadly:  Were you on posse #2?  If so, I'm the guy wearing the yellow slicker that was the shooter in front of you.  We were the only two on our posse shooting black powder cartridge.  It was a pleasure having you as a new shooter.  You did just fine.  We look forward to having you back at NTR.

Dr. J. Deadly

;D That was me behind you - in the soggy blue shirt & vest.  Even with all the rain I was warm with all the fun I was having.  The good thing too is that I can tell folks That I was in the top fifteen in our possie and right behind the leader in blackpowder! Or is that too much spin?  Stay warm and dry - and I will stay wet and cool up here for the week. :o

Ornery Orr

We'll see when the results come out, you might have beat me! :D  I don't know if anyone in the other posse was shooting BP cartridge.

French Jack

Dr. J-- your clothing (?) you were wearing would make one think that you were chilly.  BP, however, has the ability to warm things up. :D  ;P  :P  ;D
