I am new to CAS just getting started I would like to know what are some good choices for firearms for a beginner I have a Marlin 45-70 but know that it is not suited for this type of shooting. I look forward to learning and shooting this style of shooting, Thanks to all who respond.

Four-Eyed Buck

Welcome. Your 45-70 will work for long range side matches. Have you read the above posts? Good info there as well as some links to other sites with more info in them. Probably the best suggestion would be to find the local club around you and go observe. You'll find that the pards there will be really helpful and would let you try some of their iron to give you an idea as to what suits you best. Try things before you start making purchases. Theres a lot of choices out there and everybody has different tastes and likes/dislikes. Also decide which caliber you wish to use. The .38's are the most affordable to shoot, but the bigger calibers are more  authentic. Keeping your guins in the same caliber is easier to keep things sorted at the loading table. Do your research first. Get ready to have FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!Buck 8) ;D ;D
I might be slow, but I'm mostly accurate.....
